Good Stuff: Pieology

Pieology Pizzeria is an upbeat and fast moving restaurant. Employees cook the pizzas in a 1000°F stone pizza oven. The pizzas have a thin crust and are 11.5 inches in diameter. When you have decided what toppings, sauce, and the type of crust you want on your pizza they are usually done in five to ten minutes.

While making the pizza, you choose from an assortment of doughs, sauces, and topping. Step one is choosing what type of dough you want such as: the house dough, gluten free dough, and whole wheat dough. Step two, oils. They are to make the pizza crust nice and crispy. Pieology serves butter alternative, herb butter, and olive oil. Step three is the sauce. You can choose from a three-cheese alfredo, BBQ sauce, fiery buffalo sauce, pesto, or the house red sauce. Step four, the cheese, Pieology Pizzeria serves a wide variety of cheese like: mozzarella, gorgonzola, feta, parmesan, ricotta, and daiya mozzarella (vegan). Step five is toppings, they provide artichokes, banana peppers, black olives, cilantro, corn, fresh basil, garlic, grape tomatoes, green peppers, jalapenos, kalamata olives, mushrooms, pineapple, red onion, roasted red peppers, and spinach. This restaurant serves eight different types of meats; bacon, Canadian bacon, meatballs, pepperoni, sausage, spicy sausage, all natural chicken, and all natural spicy sausage. Last, but not least is step seven. Once it’s done you can choose to put basil, BBQ sauce, black pepper, fiery buffalo sauce, house red sauce, olive oil, pesto, ranch, and daiya mozzarella (vegan) on top.

Pieology Pizzeria is on Mesa and Greenfield Gateway. It is open every day, on Sundays thru Thursday’s they are open from 11:00a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Friday’s and Saturday’s they are open from 11:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.

All in all, Pieology is a great restaurant. Critics said some really great stuff about this restaurant. One food review said, “The thin crust is perfectly crisp, with char visible on bottom, and tastes just salty enough to be memorable.” It also said, “The red sauce offers a welcome spicy kick.” One last thing that this food critic stated was, “A degree in Pieology, or at least a certificate of course completion, is achievable through planning, teamwork and guidance from the Ph. D’s behind the house menu.”
