What do kids dread the most? You guessed it, homework. I know I don’t like it, and I know you don’t either.
First things first, after school is over, you’re all happy because you are done learning for the day only to come home to a bunch of learning, also know as homework. Why have our whole weekend dedicated to school work, I mean we get two days off of school for a reason! And that reason is not to do more school work.
Second off, many studies have shown countries that assign work outside of school don’t have higher academic standards than those that don’t. Some people say that the rest with no homework can help the mind focus more because the stress level is reduced by not having to think about homework. By just seeing what these studies show, I don’t know why schools would even think about giving the extra work.
Now I know what you might be saying, “Homework isn’t that bad.” Some students actually enjoy the work. In fact, if it was given to us maybe say twice a week, it would help refresh our memory over the topics that were covered in class, without all the stress. Homework, if given a reasonable amount of times, can be really helpful.
It all comes down to what you prefer. Which would you choose, homework, some homework, or no homework?
