Have you ever thought of starting gymnastics, or maybe just wanting to try open gym? Well, I have the perfect place for you: USA Youth Fitness Center. They have two locations, one on 1530 South Gilbert Road, Gilbert, Arizona 85296 and the other on 18610 East Rittenhouse Road B, Queen Creek, Arizona 85242. This interesting gym is open 7 days a week until 10:00 p.m. At USA Gymnastics, they have boys and girls gymnastics at different levels. Let’s talk about the girls gymnastics first.

Parent-tot gymnastics is for children within the ages of 18 months and 3 years. Parents work with their children on basic development under the instruction and guidance of the coaches. Preschool gymnastics is for children within the ages of 3 to 5 years, at this level, they don’t need the guidance of their parents but they will have a more structured format and the coaches get strict. Next is Novice which is for children from 4 to 6 years of age and is a training level for preparation of Level 1. Speaking of Level 1, it is for 6 to 8 year olds. Next is Level 2 and Level 3 which are also for ages 6 and older. Also Level 4, which is also referred to as Pre-Team, starts working on more skills and routines on all events including: vault, bars, beam, and floor. Lastly are the compulsory levels, also known as Junior Olympics (JO). These levels progress as you go from Level 5 all the way to 10. These girls work more skills and the difficulty progresses as they get into higher levels. They also start to have harder routines on the events and more difficult requirements including  A, B, C, D, and maybe even E skills, which are based on the skill and how hard it is to do. These gymnasts also go to competitions and receives medals and awards on their events and all-around, by how good they did. The last gymnastics program is called Xcel. Xcel has 5 different levels; Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Bronze is the lowest level, and are a combination of Levels 1 and 2 and Silver is Levels 4 and 5. Next is Gold which is Levels 6 and 7 and Platinum which is Levels 7, 8 and if you are good enough, 9. The last level of Xcel is Diamond which is 9 and 10. Also gymnasts in Xcel normally spend from 2 to 3 years in each level.  Boys have the same levels from Parent-tot all of the way to Level 10 but just last year, they started Xcel.
