Have you ever made a New Year’s resolution and actually followed through with it? If you have but didn’t complete it, don’t feel bad because only 8% of Americans do. That is a very low percentage of people considering a whopping 40% of people give them a good ol’ try. There are many different types of resolutions that one can have, such as changing for the better, staying fit and healthy, and spending more quality time with friends and family. Even though 80% of resolutions fail by February, they can still be very beneficial.
Making resolutions can help because when someone makes one, they commit to solving an important issue in their life. Resolving a personal issue allows a person to change for the better. For example, many people make some to quit addictions. Quitting an addiction may not only benefit you, but it can benefit those around you as well. Another way that resolutions can help is by encouraging people to live a healthier lifestyle. If one begins to live like this then it would reward them both physically and internally too. Within a healthier lifestyle, the most common resolutions relating to this are exercising more, losing weight, and eating healthier. A total banging 38% of people make a resolution to exercise more according to a poll by ComRes. If one makes this then it will definitely pay off after the year has passed. Lastly, a way that New Year’s resolutions can help once again is by obligating people to spend more time with family and friends. Spending more time with these ones can cause a family’s bond to strengthen, less silence, and an increase in self-confidence. There is no possible way that these ones can cause a family to suffer. Surprisingly, only 6.2% of Americans make this as their New Year’s resolution. Can you believe that? As people age they move further and further away from family and friends so this is definitely a good resolution to make as one gets older. As most people know the saying, “Family and friends are gifts that last forever.”
The types of resolutions that one picks can vary, some examples are changing for the better, staying fit and healthy, and spending more time with friends and family. Resolutions can be extremely beneficial to a person, and also provide some happy beings to the others around one as well.
