Do you love serving the community? If so, S.H.O club is for you! S.H.O club stands for Students Helping Others, which is exactly what you get to do! It is a wonderful club where the students at Greenfield Junior High are able to serve others.
S.H.O club is always looking for more members. We need more students to come hangout, have parties, and talk with the students in the Special Education Program. There is a monthly meeting during lunch where we plan activities, eat lunch, and just have a great time! Reaghan Halliday, a member of S.H.O club said, “S.H.O club is is such an amazing way to connect and make new friends. We have a lot of super fun activities planned for the year, and are really looking forward to showing our love towards these awesome kids. You’ll make friendships that will last a lifetime and love every second of it.” Throughout the year there are, Halloween parties, fun runs, Christmas parties, Valentine card exchanges, and more!
One of the most memorable events of the year is the Cardinal Field day at the end of the school year. It is an amazing event hosted by GrJHS where several Cardinal coaches and players come here for a field day. All the special education programs from the elementary and junior high schools in the district come to it. All the members of the club get a picture with the players and get to help the players run the stations. Eden Schwarz, another member of the club, who participated in the field day last year said, “One of the highlights of S.H.O club last year was Cardinal Field day. I had a blast.”
Although participating in S.H.O club can take a away from your lunchtime with friends, it is such a wonderful way to spend your time. Getting to know the kids can be a little tough, especially when they aren’t able to talk but each and everyone of them is special in their own way. Joining the club is one of the best choices you will make in your junior high life. During Club Days make sure you find their club station and join! Later in the year you will have the opportunity to get an awesome t-shirt!
