Many of the eighth graders here at Greenfield Junior High are around 14 years of age. In about a year and a half, most of us will have our drivers’ permit. A lot of parents are scared for this day to come for their child as there are many dangers to driving. Here are some cars that ensure the safety of teens that are beginning to drive. One of the safest midsize cars is the Kia Optima. The Optima offers a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine with a seven speed dual clutch transmission which means it will have no problem getting you from point A to B. Another great choice is the 2013 Toyota Camry with a price range of right around $10,000 used, is the 2013 Toyota Camry. Toyota cars are extremely reliable and very safe. The Camry has a 2.5 liter engine and an automatic transmission. The Camry has a pretty decent gas mileage of 25 miles per gallon on city streets and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. This car was also voted the best car for the money. If you are interested in an SUV, the Nissan Murano is a great choice. The Murano has a 3.5 liter engine with a 6 speed automatic transmission and guarantees your safety. Then, if you are looking for a pickup truck, a great safety vehicle is the Ford F-150. The F-150 contains a 4.6 liter engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission. Overall, all of these cars are extremely safe and great starter cars for any new drivers.
