Review: Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider is a movie that came out on March 16th and was a reboot of the original movie from 2001. It is currently rated a 49% on Rotten Tomatoes and I really think it deserves less. I would give it a 15%. I didn’t care for the actor that plays Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) whose screaming gave me a headache and her voice was not right for the role. Honestly is just kind of annoying.

There are so many plot holes as well. At one point the villain was about to kill some people, but decided not to just because. The fight scenes were just running, there was just a  few punches, and there was way too much slow-mo. The bad guys had guns and the good guys, and Lara had a bow and shot the enemy who had guns that but somehow she didn’t get shot her and a hit from a bow would likely not kill you but a shot from a gun would. Then at one point she jumped down a cliff into a not deep river with many rocks but still survived when she should be dead or at least injured. The plot is just predictable. It’s not funny, cool, or scary, and the ending is just bad. They spent forever building up this bad guy like it would be a epic battle but it was just anticlimactic. At one point I walked out of the movie theater because it was just so bad.

In total, I think no one should watch this movie and waste their money. I would actually rank it worse than Sharknado because at least I got a little bit of enjoyment.
