The 7th and 8th grade Girls’ Basketball teams have been chosen, and their season has just started! I interviewed one of our 7th grade basketball players Hailey Schaefer to get some inside information on how the season is going.
All of the basketball players love being on the team. A typical practice day starts with lots of stretching and lots of drills. Coach Lawanga has them working hard every day- to make sure the team is the best they can be! Sometimes, towards the middle and end of practices, they do a scrimmage. A scrimmage is where your own team gets separated into two teams and you play against each other in a mini game for practice.
Our Lady Grizzly basketball players said that tryouts were stressful and fun at the same time. The advice they give for trying out for a sport is to make sure you’re happy, show a good attitude, and most importantly, try your best!
The first game for the 7th and 8th grade Girls’ Basketball teams were on Thursday, March 22, 2018. They also have upcoming games on Monday, March 26, Thursday, March 29, Monday, April 2, Thursday, April 5, Monday, April 12, Thursday, April 16, Thursday, April 19, and Monday, April 23, 2018. I hope you will be able to be there to show school spirit and cheer on our Grizzly Basketball players! Everyone here at Greenfield is very proud of our basketball teams, and we’re excited to see what they’re going to do in the future. We wish them luck in their future games!
