How To De-Stress From Finals

Throughout the whole school year, most people stress about the end of the year finals and AZmerit testing, even though it’s so far away! But now, we are so close to these tests. Many people fail some of these tests because they get so stressed.

There are many ways to resolve stress problems before a test. First, you should get good sleep. Go to bed early! It’s as easy as that. You can also take a 20 to 30 minute nap if you are feeling tired. The lack of sleep affects us emotionally and mentally. Getting sleep will help us feel refreshed and relaxed and you’ll be be able to focus better. Next, go outside! Going outside is the perfect way to get your mind off your test and having some pleasant fun. Even nature helps relieve stress. It helps reduce blood pressure, muscle tension, and rewards stress hormones. If you go outside and lay in the grass while feeling the breeze and the glistening sun on your skin, it definitely will help reduce your stress. Another thing that helps is watching your favorite TV show! You might really like the sound of that. Research shows that watching TV can help you forget about your stressful test and get into the world of your favorite TV show on Netflix and relax your brain. Lastly, exercise! Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to reduce stress. According to HelpLine.com, it states, “It might seem contradictory, but putting physical stress on your body through exercise can help relieve mental stress.” Also, exercise relates to sleep, as I said before. It helps your body relax when you’re done which helps your sleep quality.

To sum up, these stressful tests are a big part of your grade. Many kids fail their finals just from stress. So if we follow these four steps of reducing stress, we are on the right track for getting an A on your next test.
