Recipe: Popcorn Three Ways
The hardest part of having braces is trying to resist the lure of popcorn. Well, maybe not. Maybe a truer sentence would be, the number one rule broken concerning braces is avoiding popcorn. I’m apologizing now, to both dentists and braces-bearers alike, because following are three of the most delicious, drool-worthy popcorn recipes ever, thanks to tasteofhome.com.
Peanut Butter Lover’s
- 3 ½ quarts popcorn
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup peanut butter
- M&M’s and pretzels (optional)
Pour honey and sugar into saucepan and stir for five minutes at a boil. While it’s cooling, stir in peanut butter. Spread over the popcorn on wax paper and top with M&M’s and pretzels.
Frosty Peppermint
- ⅓ cup crushed peppermints
- ½ pound white chocolate or white candy coating
- 3 ½ quarts popcorn
Melt white chocolate or candy coating, fold in peppermint chunks, and drizzle over popcorn. Cool for a few minutes, if you can resist, then enjoy!
Parmesan Ranch
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan
- 2 tbs ranch salad dressing mix
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 3 ½ quarts popcorn
Mix Parmesan, dressing mix, parsley, onion powder, and butter. Drizzle this unusual concoction over popcorn for a rare but still tasty treat.
Popcorn is delicious no matter its flavor. These recipes can be a great addition to your movie night, but if they don’t work out, who cares? There’s nothing wrong with good, old-fashioned, plain popcorn!
