OTHER: Behind the Scenes

Have you ever considered what goes on behind the scenes of your favorite movie? Many hilarious things happen on the set of a film, so enjoy these funny tidbits from behind the camera.

The Batman film “The Dark Knight” is widely considered one of the greatest films of 2008. Many superfans know that the film was produced under the fake title “Rory’s First Kiss” to lower the visibility of production, but fans soon realized that it was obviously a Batman film due to cast information on the IMDB (Internet Movie Database) page. In addition, Joker licking his lips has become an iconic symbol of Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the character. But, as it turns out, Ledger was only licking his lips due to the heavy amount of makeup on his face.

Pixar’s “Toy Story 2” went through a lot of interesting times during production. Perhaps the most interesting was when an animator doing a routine file cleanup on the studio’s computer server accidentally entered a command that deleted everything on the file system, including the then work-in-progress sequel to “Toy Story.” The animators were horrified as they saw their hard work fade off the screen less than a year before the film’s planned release. Thankfully, backup copies of the files still existed, so they were able to recover the film and continue to work on it.

The stormtroopers of the “Star Wars” franchise have become such an exemplary symbol of power, with their white armor and menacing helmets. However, when somebody watches the first installment, “A New Hope,” they rarely see the stormtrooper hit his head on an opening door. The actor who portrayed that stormtrooper has stated that he was sick on the day they filmed that scene, which caused him to hit his head on the door.

Did you know that the cast and crew of “The Raiders of the Lost Ark” got food poisoning on set? Or that Robert Downey Jr. had to wear platform shoes to make him appear taller on the set of “Avengers: Infinity War”? So many funny things happen behind the camera on a film, I hope you enjoyed these facts.
