Mug Cake How-to

Every once in awhile, it’s good to treat yourself, and this dessert is perfect for the occasion. Have you ever wanted to make a delicious cake, but it takes too much time? Well this recipe only takes six minutes and does not require a stove.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup  all purpose flour

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

  • ⅛ teaspoon baking soda

  • 3 tablespoons milk

  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Large microwave-safe mug

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into a large microwave-safe mug.

  2. Then slowly stir in milk, canola oil, and vanilla extract.

  3. Cook in microwave until cake is done, about 1 minute and 45 seconds

  4. Enjoy your delicious mug cake!

*If you choose to make a healthier version, use 1 ½ tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce and 1 teaspoon of water to substitute for milk. Enjoy your delicious mug cake!
