Although February is the shortest month of the year, it’s jammed full of mini holidays. Every day of the year has a holiday, or two, or three.
Almost everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is on February 14th, but not many people know about the other holiday, called National Donors Day. This day is dedicated people who have donated organs and other related things. Also, for everybody that is single on Valentine’s Day, don’t worry! February 15th is a day just for you; a day all about singles awareness. Everybody that is single hangs with there other single friends and participate in fun activities. With over five million people that play Pokemon, February 27th is by far one of the most favored holidays this month. National Play Pokemon Day is a day were all Pokemon lovers celebrate and play Pokemon Go Tournaments. In addition, February 27th is home to four holidays. Including, National Play Pokemon Day, National Chilli Day, International Polar Bear Day, and National Protein Day. Everybody knows about Groundhog’s Day (which is on February 2nd) but not many know about the other five holidays that go with it. February 2nd is a home to a total of six holiday, making it one of the most filled days of the month. The holidays on the 2nd include Groundhog’s Day, National Ukulele Day, Superbowl Sunday, Candleman’s Day, National Hedgehog Day, and National Tater Tot Day.
Besides daily holidays, there are holidays that go on all month long. February welcomes monthly holidays like, Black History Month, National Snack Food Month, Responsible Pet Owners Month, and so many others. In total there are 17 monthly holidays, and 69 daily holidays. Every month has a health related monthly holiday. For example, January is Cervical Health Awareness Month. Which means February is American Heart Awareness Month. The rest of the months in order include National Kidney Month, National Stress Awareness Month, National Blood Pressure Month, National Men and Women’s Health Month, and National Eye Exam Month. Others include, National Cholesterol Education Month, Down Syndrome Awareness Month, National Epilepsy Awareness Month, and National Keep Clean For Health Month.
February is one of the most interesting months, even though it’s the shortest month of the year. Enjoy each day celebrating something new!
