Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker

For 43 years, Star Wars has been a thriving film series. Star Wars holds a Guinness World Record title for the “Most successful film in the merchandise franchise,” and has grossed an estimate of 65 billion dollars.

The most recent Star Wars film- Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is a thrilling movie about a girl named Rey along with her friends Poe and Finn’s journey to lead the Resistance to victory. It all starts when it’s discovered that the evil Emperor Palatine didn’t die in the hands of the deceased emperor, Darth Vader. The Resistance (also known as the Rebels), must race against the clock to find Emperor Palpatine’s where-abouts. Finn and Poe lead the Rebels to stop the First Order’s plans to form a new Empire, while Rey anticipates her inevitable confrontation with Kylo Ren.

The new Star Wars movie was disappointing to many. On Rotten Tomatoes, it only got 52% with many comments proclaiming “It wasn’t as creative compared to the older ones.” On the other hand, a lot of people disagree. In addition, many of the viewers loved what the new movie brought to the table. Hundreds of people left comments saying “I loved it. It kept me on my toes the whole time!”

I was one of those hundreds of people. I absolutely loved the new movie. Speaking from someone who has been a Star Wars fan from a young age, it did not disappoint. I loved every second of this movie, so much so that I watched it a total of five times. Coming from the point of view of a Star Wars fan, I would rate Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker an 10 out of 10 because it was a fitting finish to end the saga series.
