Entertainment Holiday

Have you ever thought of why we celebrate Thanksgiving and how it came to be? People should be award of this history because it makes the season so much better to know of it’s past. Long ago in Plymouth in October of 1621, the Pilgrims celebrated the very first Thanksgiving. They were so grateful that they had found a land where they could settle and find freedoms that would change their lives for the better. They had made friends with the people who already lived in this land, the Wampanoag people, who had taught them to farm and how to live in a different environment. They were so grateful so they decided to have a feast together to celebrate all the good things that had happened. They shared their magnificent harvest of chicken, greens, and bread with the Wampanoag people to feast. It was a great way to think of how grateful they were for everything they had.

Today, just like those people long ago, people still celebrate the season by thinking about what they are thankful for as they sit down to feast each Thanksgiving.  It could be home, family, friends, food, there are so many things to be grateful for! People use this holiday to take a bit of time off of jobs, work, and school to think of what they love and are grateful for. Many families use this time to gather with extended families and friends so they can show their love and thankfulness for so many good people in their lives.  Some like to do turkey trots before they eat so much food. Some like to raise money for causes that they think are important to show their gratitude. This season is the merriest of them all so take it in and love it and be grateful for every single second of this gorgeous Thanksgiving holiday season.
